In My Own Words
August 2018

"Hi dear friends. My name is Yester Adolfo Barberena and I live in Diriomo. Today I am going to share my experience in BECA.org foundation now called HEDU.org.
First of all, everything started when I was on my last year of high school; I remember that Urania Montoya visited the Instituto Monseñor Rafael Angel Reyes high school in order to provide information about the program. After that I ask my relatives about that foundation and they suggest me to get more information.
I decided to get ready with all the documents and visited the BECA.org office; they explained me the process to apply. After I filled out the form; I was just waiting to confirm my place.
Thank god I was accepted. We start the 6th month process. First we had to take a computer course at INTECOMP, I was in the afternoon shift. Throughout the time we spent there I learned and review basic topics about Internet and as well I made too many friends. After that we had to take the three months brigade, I supported the Rafaela Herrera School in Diriomo with kids from 2nd grade, I like helping them out, I still remember a little girl who was really friendly with me, her name is Francela. It was a great experience.
I decided to study computers for a year and a half at MASINFA-MASAYA, I learned how to fix computers, network, to install program, use Photoshop and all about technology.
I perform my prevocational services at the Humberto Alvarado Hospital Masaya being part of IT, my instructor was Lic. Marvin Alegria, throughout the three months that I worked with him I use all the knowledge acquired.
Now a day I am working, but not on what I studied for. Also I am studying English at the University, I am on my first year. I am so grateful with God first for giving me the strength and then BECA.org for the opportunity that they gave me to study a technical career.

I say goodbye to you but never stop dreaming, because the only obstacle to not grow up, is the attitude to face challenges in life.
