In My Own Words
March 2018
"Hi HEDU.org family, my name is Pedro David Gunera Flores; I got graduated on automotive mechanic career. I will share my experience on the foundation since 2013 through 2016. I did not have any plan to study a technical career or being on a university, a couple of years ago I had tried to study at INTECNA-Granada but it was a waste of time since I reprobate mathematic class on the first semester of the year so I got disappointed and decided not to continue. After that I had to look for a job but I never had employment stability. On many occasions I had to travel to Costa Rica in order to get a job which it was not easy; at that moment I realized how important study was. By the end of 2012 I came back home from Costa Rica and my mom told me that there was a foundation called BECA.org, which gave opportunities to study but first they had to be evaluated in order to get the scholarship. It was a really good option for me and I remember that at the beginning of 2013 I went with my mom in order to apply, thanks God I was accepted. I don't really remember when the classes started, first I had to take a three months computer course, then I had to work at an elementary school and help the students with low scores for three months more. I decided to study Automotive Mechanic at INTECNA-Granada since 2014 through 2016. Now it was a challenge for me because last time I failed. I still remember when I perform my internship at Auto-Nica Managua for three months. It was an amazing challenge for me and even though I did not have enough experience they hire me, maybe because of my good behavior, respect and humbleness. Thanks God for giving me this enormous godsend in my life as well to BECA.org-HEDU.org for their support in order to be a winner. I hope you continue helping Nicaraguan youth with dreams or wishes of overcoming. Thanks.
