Terms of Use
Welcome to BECA, a non-profit corporation (together with its employees, directors, and partner schools, collectively “BECA”). This Terms of Use Agreement is a contract between you and BECA and governs all transactions between you and BECA, as well as your use of the BECA.org website (the "Website"). By using the Website, you agree to be bound by this Agreement, whether or not you become a sponsor or participate in BECA’s “Sponsor a Student” program (the “Program”). If you wish to become a Sponsor, or participate in the Program, you must read all of the terms and conditions in this Agreement (including the Privacy Policy).
1. Participation in the Program
BECA manages the Website, which matches you and other persons (each, a "Sponsor") with Nicaraguans who live in poverty (each, a "Becado") in need of scholarship. By participating in the Program, you hereby acknowledge and agree that BECA makes no guarantee that any donation you give will result in student graduation or success.
Sponsor Disbursement. You understand that BECA identifies and partners with existing technical centers (each, a "Partner School") in Nicaragua. Any donation made by you or any other Sponsor will be disbursed to Partner Schools to cover the tuition and materials of each Becado you have selected for receipt of a sponsorship. BECA passes 100% of these donated funds to the Partner School(s) to cover the tuition and materials for Becados selected for sponsorship on the Website. Partner Schools are responsible for screening Becados, and BECA (a) expressly disclaims any responsibility to screen any Becado, and (b) shall have no liability whatsoever and you shall hold BECA harmless from, any and all liabilities with respect to, or resulting from such screenings.
Tax Deductibility. At the present time, you are eligible to receive a tax deduction in the United States and in Canada. BECA is qualified as a public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 in the United States, as amended from time to time. In Canada, BECA is a registered Canadian charity (83338 2609 RR0001).
