How Beca.org Works

1.

BECA.org partners with certified Nicaraguan technical schools that provide administrative services in exchange for receiving students.

2.

Students must apply to receive a "beca" (which is Spanish for scholarship), to study at one of our partner schools.

To qualify, a student candidate must:

  a. Have no financial resources to register for the course.
  b. Meet the academic prerequisites for the course.
  c. Commit to writing journal entries and updates.
  d. Commit to a social project in their community.

3.

Sponsors view the profiles of qualifying students on BECA.org and choose the student(s) they wish to support.

4.

Sponsors transfer money for tuition and study materials to partner schools through BECA.org.

5.

Sponsors follow the journey of their students as they journal their experiences.
